In 1943 The All-American Girls Professional Baseball League was born.
Some of the teams were:
Milwaukee Chicks
Kalamazoo Lassies
Chicago Colleens
Springfield Sallies
The Hall of Fame has a very nice display of the League.
My wife said I had to write a blog entry about these caps.

I was able to view underneath the cap and noticed it was an elastic stretch- fitted cap.
